Our Beloved Riley as Seen through her Teacher

Riley emanated joy for life through her art, her compassion for others, and her perseverance to learn. Riley was an individual who enjoyed others but didn’t seem to worry about fitting in or being cool. This attribute made her one of the coolest teens I’ve ever met.  She was independent, but a team player.  She was non-judgmental and open to friendships with all kinds of people. She made us all feel included and heard. She was an introspective thinker whose curiosity and discipline led her on a fearless journey of discovery, and her exploration and experiences fueled her aspirations. A quiet positivity radiated from her being, and she used her humor to create a positive impact in our community. Her legacy to all of us is to follow her lead in acceptance, perseverance, love, kindness and a quest to learn more.
